Brandon Walley is a filmmaker and curator based in Detroit, Michigan. His films have been screened at festivals, galleries and museums internationally, including Kunsthaus Graz (Austria), Strangloscope (Brazil), Rooftop Film (NYC), Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Iowa City Experimental Film Festival and Ann Arbor Film Festival, among others. He is former Program Director of Corktown Cinema and former Co-Director of the Detroit Film Centre and Detroit Projection Project, has taught film production at the College for Creative Studies, Lawrence Technological University, and YArts of Metro Detroit. Walley is also former Chair of Detroit’s Imagination Station of Roosevelt Park. Brandon's artistic work is deeply embedded in Detroit’s cultural community, where he works on neighborhood and urban renewal projects with a focus on art and moving image media. He brings adventurous film experiences to venues in Detroit, in partnership with organizations including the Hamtramck Free School, Trinosophes and Media City Film Festival. He has been Media City's Regional Artists' Curator since 2008, is Head of the festival Screening Committee, and is the organization’s Board President. Brandon is currently a 2020 Artist Fellow with Kresge Arts in Detroit.
